Recovery Housing Certification

Recovery residences offer a living environment that is alcohol and drug free with a focus on peer support and connection to other recovery services that support long term recovery.

Certification:

Certification is a voluntary process; however, it is necessary to receive referrals and/or state funds.

The Rhode Island Communities for Addiction Recovery Efforts (RICARES) is the agency responsible for the certification program in Rhode Island. RICARES understands that safe and affordable housing is a key part of Recovery Support Services. They are working to ensure all recovery houses meet the national certification standards.

The application process may be found on the RICARES website: https://ricares.org/housing/

Certified Recovery Houses through RICARES are also able to receive reimbursement for services from BHDDH while funding is available.
